What sets you apart from your competition? Apart from my 25 years’ experience as a wedding coordinator and event planner, I know what the client hopes for and I do everything I can to help them attain their dreams. I try pull in extra details so each event has its own personality. Decorate Your Day has a huge inventory with many choices for colors and décor from the ceiling to the floor. We keep our linens ironed and wrapped on racks in a climate controlled storage to ensure a clean product.
Where do you find inspiration? In every person that I meet. Every event that I might be planning, started with a person and a story of why they wanted to hire me and an idea of what they are envisioning. Creating a moment in time is inspired by their dreams. Decorate Your Day also tries to collaborate with other High Desert Vendors so that we are all painting on the same canvas. I think when working together, the client feels that their event is the happiest and most memorable day of their lives.
What’s your favorite local charity? Boys and Girls Club, The women’s shelter and supporting our troops. I also help feed and find homes for animals.
What is your favorite fun thing to do locally? Antique shopping on Route 66, creating amazing things in my Arts and Crafts Guild. I am also a foodie and love to sing!
If you were to plan your own wedding, or re-do your wedding, what elements would be most important to you? I would keep it small and plan for perfection by hiring other vendors to help me. Then whatever happens on that day good or bad would be part of my adventure and story — the day of should be all about enjoying myself and my husband every moment and not worry about the details….not for one second.
What advice would you give someone who is needing a planner or a decorator? Just to know we probably already have the answers or items you are looking for. We are trained to take the stress out of managing or decorating your event while keeping you focused on your vision, goals and budget so you can enjoy your day with the most important people in your lives. Doing it yourself usually costs you more than you bargained for than if you had hired a professional.
